Is there a homeopathic version of HRT?

One cannot answer this question lightly.

According to homeopathic principles, we need to assume, that’s not the case. And need to answer “no, there is no homeopathic version of HRT”.

However, many homeopaths support their clients with organ supports, which act as a substitute treatment without evoking unwanted side effects.

Many women are interested in the alternatives that can be offered, however, not many alternatives can be found.

HRT is often not used as intended and may be finished early. Women are concerned about adding hormones to their body. Side effects may come in the form of weight gain, breast pains, abdominal pains, migraines, varicose veins, sleep issues – a general hormonal imbalance – the exact think it’s trying to remedy in the first place.

To balance the hormone level homoeopathically, homeopathic remedies can be successfully prescribed as organ supports:

  • FSH: in high dilution (high potency) – for complaints of menopause symptoms.
  • Luteinum: used in low potency for complaints of menopause, amenorrhea (missing menses), spontaneous abortion (miscarriage)
  • Oopherinum: amenorrhea (missing menses), decreased libido
  • Folliculinum: used in low potency for a low level of oestrogen – often together with Luteinum

Also, progesterone can be given in homeopathic potency. Many homeopaths either give Progesteronum, or Luteinum in addition to Folliculinum.

What’s the difference between Progesteronum and Luteinum? Luteinum is an endocrine gland that produces progesterone amongst others, namely oestrogen, lipids, pigments and vitamins. This makes it far more complex than progesteronum on its own.

All our hormones in the body interact with each other. One cannot simply increase one hormone – but must carefully observe, what happens in the body. Thus, other remedies made from hormones may come into play as needed:

  • Testosterone: a reduction in oestrogen and testosterone can be accompanied by a reduction of the male hormones. This results in an excess of androgen hormones, resulting in additional hair growth and change in voice at times.
  • FSH: very useful also for hot flushes in advanced menopause. For UTIs caused by bacteria such as E.Coli or Proteus;
  • LH: Luteinizing hormone – supports production of progesterone; pituitary disorders
  • Hypothalamus: vasomotor symptoms, disrupted sleep.
  • Thyroidinum: thyroid symptoms that may present more often in this phase of life

It’s also been researched, that some remedies work better, when injected, versus ingested.
